The SOTES (Survey of Teaching Effectiveness) is available now! For those who don't know, this is a survey that examines your satisfaction with the class and my teaching.

Please consider filling out an evaluation for this class. I'd really appreciate getting your feedback. Faculty members do read these surveys (as do the people who decide whether we'll get to teach again, and in fact, people whose students do not fill out SOTES will likely not be rehired) and I am very interested in feedback that will help to determine the structure of my future classes. I found the feedback I've received in the past on the SOTES very helpful in designing the class for you. So if there's something you hated about the class, you could help ensure that other students don't suffer through the same thing by offering your feedback (or if you liked something, you can help ensure that more time is devoted to it). The evaluations are totally confidential, so I won't be able to identify who wrote what.

Unfortunately, this is only for SJSU students because you have to have an account in my.sjsu.edu. So WISE students will not be able to fill this out. However, WISE itself offers an end-of-semester survey and I encourage you to fill that out.

SOTES for Summer 2011 are currently open and will close on August 5th. During this time frame they will be available round the clock (except for my.sjsu.edu downtime -see my.sjsu.edu home page)

Here is how students access SOTES:

1. Log into my.sjsu.edu

2. Look under SJSU Campus Solutions

They can also search for SOTE in the search box on my.sjsu.edu
