Welcome to the classroom for Web 2.0! This is a graduate-level course taught in Summer 2011 for the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. While membership in this class is only open to those who are registered for it, anyone can participate in the conversation by registering in the classroom and commenting on student and faculty blog posts. Tonight's the big night! We will be holding our Elluminate session from 6:30 - 8:00 pm PST where each group will present their proposal ideas. You can find the link to our session and password at http://sociallibraries.com/su11/node/564 (you'll need to be logged into the site to access it). Our Elluminate Assistant, Joyce's contact info is on there too if you find you need some last minute advice.
Good luck everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that if your presentation is a little bit long or short (30 seconds or less) that's not a big deal. So if you're stressing over 20 seconds, don't.
Looking forward to seeing your presentations tomorrow night!
I hate to tell you this, though perhaps you already guessed it, but a great deal of what you've learned in this class will have changed within a year. Companies whose products you played with will no longer exist. New ones will have taken their place. Young people will be using new tools and the already existing hot tools will probably have made many, many changes to remain competitive. This is an area where the only constant is change and relying on anything to remain the same is a fool's game.
I wanted to remind you to email me your Group Experience Report after you've completed your group project and to explain why this requirement exists. This is a part of the grade for the final project and it's critical that I receive one from each of you by Thursday at the latest. To refresh your memory:
The SOTES (Survey of Teaching Effectiveness) is available now! For those who don't know, this is a survey that examines your satisfaction with the class and my teaching.

Update: According to Kelly, the code for Youtube will work if you use their old code. "They have an option when you get the code to get the old code they used to use." Thanks for the tip Kelly!!!
For whatever reason, it seems that YouTube and Screenr embed codes simply won't embed in our Drupal classroom. This has definitely never been a problem with YouTube videos in the past, as other classes have embedded them without incident. So, if you are trying to embed a video from one of those two providers, just provide a link to the video instead.
