The first six weeks of the course (after week 1) were focused on communications technologies. The next three weeks we will be focusing on collaborative technologies -- technologies that allow us to collaborate internally as an organization or team and technologies that allow us to collaborate with our patrons and collect knowledge from them. This first week, we're going to be focused on two of the biggest collaborative technologies -- social bookmarking software and wikis. This week's lecture will be more focused on wikis, because I'm going to focus more on tagging and social bookmarking in the Week 10 lecture. We also have guest speakers this week for our Wednesday evening Elluminate session; I'll talk more about that in another post.
I hope you all get as excited about the possibilities of collaborative technologies as I do -- I really think they hold tremendous potential for collecting knowledge in ways that benefit organizations and individuals immeasurably.
