Getting ready for your presentations
Tuesday evening's the big night for you all! From 6:30 - 8:00 pm PT, you will be presenting your final group projects. Your presentation can include slides, a live demo of your prototype/working model or whatever your group feels it needs to get its point across. It must be 8 minutes-long and it must be presented as if your audience knows little about social software and needs to be convinced that your idea is good. You can assume in the presentation that we know the basic definitions (what a blog is, what a wiki is, etc.), but that we have not used any of them nor thought of how they could be used in libraries. The class will then have four minutes to ask you questions after your presentation.
I plan to give everyone moderator status when they come into the Elluminate classroom on Tuesday. That way, you can upload any power point (.ppt) files you might have and will be able to push web pages to us or screen share. If you'd like me to upload your files for you, please send them to me at least an hour before class. Michele will not be with us for this last session, though we may have another Elluminate assistant depending on who is available. We only have four groups presentating, so we will have more than enough time to accomodate minor technical issues.
I'm really looking forward to seeing your presentations, proposals and prototypes! Hopefully you will find this useful practice for presenting ideas in your own libraries. As always, please contact me if you have any questions.
