Web 2.Overload?
I had a very busy Saturday packed with Web 2.0 stuff! I borrowed Guitar Hero I and II and let the anime club have at it after their meeting. Gaming in the library! As far as I know, it's a first in the library. After they started getting bored, I asked them if I should request the game system for another day. Most of them said yes and I asked if I could post some follow up information on the blog. Surprise, surprise, hardly anyone actually had steady access to the Internet. Well that explains why nothing happens on the blog. So Web 2.0 doesn't exactly work for this particular group of teens. I'm still messing with a MySpace Page for anime club only because there could be lots of computer people in or around Lennox surfing around at home instead of wandering into the library like these kids.
The biggest Web 2.0 surprise came from my balloon performer. Buster Balloon is an awesome guy! Who doesn't enjoy seeing a grown man climb into a six foot balloon? =) I was chatting with him and he said performing a lot of networking and word of mouth. He seemed a little exasperated when he listed off some of the social networking sites he was registered with and told me he couldn't even keep track of how many sites he was registered to! What do you think? Is there such a thing as Web 2.Overload?
