LIBR 246-12: Web 2.0 and Social Networking Tools (Fall 2008)

Blogging will do at least one new thing for me in this class: It will open up to me things I do not ordinarily do or think about.

Microblogging has become a huge phenomenon in the social software world over the past year or so. Microblogging is a form of blogging that is limited usually to 140 or 200 characters or less. You can write as many posts as you want in a day, but each one must be at most 140 characters. These posts can either be seen by everyone or just by those whom you have designated as your friends. Lots of people microblog using their portable devices (cell phones, PDAs, etc.), so they can let friends/colleagues know what they're up to (or keep up with their friends/colleagues) from anywhere.
