Which of the vodcast examples above would you consider most effective and why?
I really enjoyed watching all the vodcast examples this week and I think most of them are very effective. I really liked the book review videos from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Giving library customers a preview of a book is very helpful because it gives them insight on whether or not the book is something they would want to read. The video is also done very professionally and I liked that the authors also featured. It also works to convince them to read. The current video on Husbandry definitely made me want to read the book. I also liked the library commercials, but my favorite is the one from the Jönköp University Library. The library video was also professional and very informative. It showed what it’s like to be in their library and all the amenities they have. It made me want to visit the library, I was sold! The Kenton County Public Library also had effective vodcast announcement. It showed library customers what kind of activities they have at the library. I also liked the director and the librarian talked about what they do at the library. The book reviews are also very effective. I also thought that the Lily and ACPL video was very cute. Not only was it entertaining, it was also a great way to get to know the library and the staff. The video contests are great at getting the public involved with the library. It increases participation as well as help publicize the library.
