I enjoyed the reenactment of a scene from a Harry Potter movie 'How I have fun at the Library" of the Denver Public Library YouTube Contest . In addition to their hip Myspace profile, this is another fun activity aimed at keeping the library a teen-friendly place. For teenagers, the library is not always a cool place to be but the use of YouTube for the contest not only reaches out to teens but also serve as an extension of library’s presence within its teen community. The contest was held late in 2006 when many teens were on school breaks and it gave them an outlet to show their filmmaking talents which is a great skill to have.
I think a lot of students
I think a lot of students don't consider what they value about their local library, so engaging them in a creative project about the library gets them to think in that way (and create awesome marketing materials at the same time).
