I enjoyed the podcasts from the Seattle Public Library. They offer a variety of podcasts: authors/events, teens, library tour, information professionals podcasts. The podcasts are well-organized. It's wonderful to be able to access these wonderful resources with a click of a mouse. I particularly enjoyed the authors podcasts. Author visits can be costly. Often times, seating for the event is limited. Now, even if you can't make it to the event, you can go to the library's page and access the author's podcast. It's a great way to allow more public access to events held in the library. The resources spent on a one day event is now stretched because the podcast is available on the Internet. I also liked the teen podcasts. The library has a Teen Center Board! It is a wonderful way to involve the library's young adult patrons.
Having a variety of podcast
Having a variety of podcast for library patrons is an emerging technology of delivering library content to different library users. Although librarians still do reference work and storytime, podcasting is an example of how their role keep changing to meet the needs and desires of our patrons.
