I am very surprised at how many use facebook and myspace. In reality these sites are is almost and quasi student and alumni association. And the great thing is that people are taking part in this; unlike say an alumni organization where you ignore when you get the postcard.
Look many people have (had) websites that were updated once. Here these sites re updated motile times a day. In is really great to see people being so proactive.
People have taken to this information. They want to use. Libraries should be using it for that reason alone. There is an old saying by Stan Musial who said he got so many hits (he played baseball) because he the ball where the other team was not.
The opposite is true, we have to go to where the people are. If that bookmobiles, online, facebook, rss feeds, whatever. If people are using these technologies then we need to be there and ready to part of their world. Because if we are not, they what are we really doing?
