Exercise 2: Due Sep 20

The goal of this exercise is to give you experience using advanced tools for manipulating RSS feeds.

1. Create a blog post on this site.

2. You will need to add the following content to your post.

1. Display the RSS feed of your blog (you can find the RSS URL by clicking on your name on the Class Roster page, scrolling down to the bottom of the page, and then copying the URL of the orange feed icon). You can use Feed2JS to display the content of your blog. Make sure to just display the first 300 characters of each post.

2. Display the contents of five RSS feeds (your choice) using Grazr. (Once you've created your Grazr, look under file and choose "Add to your page" to get the embed code for your blog post.)

3. Mix any three feeds using Feed Informer and display them on your page (use the embed code Feed Informer provides).

4. Using FeedSifter, filter the feed for the New York Times for the word Obama. Display the resulting feed on the page using Feed2JS.

Note: To insert any JavaScript into the blog post, you will need to click on the HTML button on the WYSIWYG edutor at the bottom of the editing interface.  You can then insert the JavaScript into the appropriate place on the post. When you're finished adding all of the elements to the page, you can preview it and then publish it.
