Learning Objectives

By the end of the week, you should:

1. Understand the changing technological landscape libraries are operating in.

2. Understand how people have defined Web 2.0 and Library 2.0

3. Understand what social software is.

4. Understand the course expectations and how to navigate the classroom.

5. Be able to create a blog post in the classroom.

 

Lecture

1. Read all of the introductory messages and instructions and do the following:

1. Sign up for a Google Reader or Bloglines account.

2. Create an account with delicious and post your username and a link to your account on the wiki.

3. Register in our Angel classroom.

2. Write a blog post that tells us a little about you and what you hope to get out of the class (due August 29).

3. Write a blog post about one of the following topics (due August 29):

1. What do you think of the concept of Library 2.0? What does Library 2.0 mean to you? (Tags = blogpostwk1, blogpostwk1n1)

2. How have social software tools had an effect on your life or work? (Tags = blogpostwk1, blogpostwk1n2)

3. Write your own reflections on what you learned this week. (Tags = blogpostwk1, blogpostwk1n3)

4. Comment on at least two other people's blog posts (due August 31).
