1. How has your view of social software changed since starting the course?

I have learned that there is a lot more than just Facebook. I now have knowledge of social software; I may not be an expert in every single tool I discovered during this course, but I feel confident that if needed, I will be able to master any tool. More importantly, I know about the existence of many tools I did not know about before.

2. What technology did you find most interesting for your personal use? What technology did you think would be most useful professionally?

I will probably use a blog in the near future for both personal and professional blog. I love the idea of how a blog can be so interactive. In this class we talked about the importance defining clear goals and objectives in creating a blog and I feel confident on which guidelines to follow when planning and executing a blog.

3. What surprised you during the course?

I was surprise to learn how easy to use some tools are. I did enjoy the screencasting exercise, and love the fact that these are so easy to record and upload. I think a lot of people think social software as technical and hard to use, but most of the tools are user friendly.

4. What suggestions do you have for improving the learning activities?

Overall, I like the balance of work and combination of learning activities. The one area where I felt a little pressure has having to do a blog entry every week. It would help to have at least one week free of posting.

5. How did your experience using Drupal differ from your experience in Angel classrooms ?

At first it felt “different” but got use to it. I like how it feels more personal; I can see a picture when I read blog entries and tied comments to those in the class. Tags are definitely new for me, a good exposure and understanding of what tags are and how these are used.

6. Looking back, how would you sum up your experience?

I feel up to date as far as social software goes. It feels good knowing what tools are out there and where the different groups of people are.

I'm glad that you found that

I'm glad that you found that these Web 2.0 technologies are a lot more usable than you'd originally thought and that you feel more of a sense of confidence in your ability to master them. I hope everyone in the class came out feeling more confident in their technical skills than they did previously.
