Your course looks very

Your course looks very expansive and comprehensive. I see that Helene Blowers is contributing content to your lessons, and you mention her Learning 2.0 program elsewhere. Here at the joint San Jose Public/San Jose State University Library we are also running a Learning 2.0 course that is based on Helene Blowers' program. Just wondering - why do you call Five Weeks to a Social Library the first of its kind?

Erm, because it is. There

Erm, because it is. There have been a number of programs like it, but nothing specifically focused at the constituency we targeted -- otherwise-underserved librarians.

I think our mix of synchronous and a- and our focus on outcomes is unique, but I'm prepared to see pushback on that point. We'll see what happens when we publish about the experience.

In addition, because, unlike

In addition, because, unlike the Learning 2.0 programs, this was open to librarians all over the world, regardless of affiliation. It was also completely designed and implemented without any institutional support -- it was just six librarians who wanted to do something for the profession. This is a very different model than Learning 2.0. Both are great models, but different.
