An Open Coversation
One of the tenets of Library 2.0 and Web 2.0 is the Open Conversation. A conversation is open when anyone can participate, when anyone can read it, when people are honest, and when people respond to others' honesty.
Five Weeks to a Social Library is a rider of the Cluetrain. We want to be a good example of the Open Conversation. This is a learning experience for everyone, the participants, the presenters, the watchers and commenters from afar, and especially the planners.
We may be steering this adventure, but we by no means have all the answers. If there is something you hate about the course, software you would like to critique that we use in the course, or any other comments you would like to put in this space, somewhere else, or simply send an email, please do it. Five Weeks to a Social Library will only be successful if we all learn from each other and strive to build something better in the future.
As the course goes on, share your thoughts, your ideas, and your gripes. We want it all.

And in the spirit of
And in the spirit of "perpetual beta" (also a Web 2.0 buzzword), if something seems to be missing from the site or just plain not working right, ask about fixing it. The blog-comments RSS feed came about (for those who didn't notice) because Melissa Rethlefsen asked "can this be done?" and I said "hm, I dunno, but I'll see what I can find out" and it turned out to be entirely feasible.
I'm a newbie at this Drupal stuff, so it may take me some time to find a fix, and I don't always have a good sense of what is and isn't possible. But I'll try!
Do you know if it is
Do you know if it is possible to RSS by categories in the blogs. I was thinking that if I used a blog for resource sharing, I would want to be able to aggregate content under separate categories. I use Drupal in my library, but am NO expert!
Hi Tamara. Yes, it is
Hi Tamara. Yes, it is possible. Click on any category in this blog (for example, the category for this post is "about the course") and if you look at the bottom of the page, you will see a little feed icon, which contains the URL of the rss feed for that category. So once we've gone through the week on blogs, we can click on the category link for blogs and see all of your posts on blogs. Cool, huh? :)
That is an incredibly useful tool for pushing information to different groups using a single blog.
