Hello from the 3rd coast!

Hi all.  My name is Samantha, and I'm a librarian from Texas.  I'm the assistant director of a mid-sized public library near the coast.  I've been a librarian for about three years, mostly in reference.   I've read about all of the social technologies that will be covered in the course, but I don't have a lot of experience using all of them.  I can see how all of these technologies would be helpful to individuals, but I'm still a little fuzzy on how libraries can use them in a substantive way to improve services to users.  I'm hoping the course will enlighten me.  Nice to meet everyone -- sounds like we have a good group.
