A Fabulous Five Weeks!
Do I have to pick one? My favorite part of this course is the variety of ways to learn. To read an article, listen to a webcast, experiment with the technology and then chat about it - what a great combo. Each part built on the others to help deepen my understanding. Also, it was great being assigned to a specific group. That helped me to feel that I had some more personal collaborators. My group really fueled my thoughts with new approaches and helped me expand my ideas of the possibilities for using these technologies. Great encouragement too.
Personally I think the RSS feed is the greatest tool for helping me keep track of important updates and avoid information overload. Professionally, the blog is great but I suspect the wiki will be even better.
I was surprised at how many people were following this from outside the course - I had a colleague here approach me after seeing ALA's write up on it. I also really appreciated the very genuine interest the different presenters showed during the chats and questions. It makes me feel that they really are willing to be a continuing resource for us.
I think a little more time would have been good. But, on the other hand, the short time frame made it easy to convince management that I could take time for this. I also wish that you had included IM as one of the weekly topics.
I am very thankful that this material will continue to be available. Also, thanks for the general helpfulness of the organizers. This was a fabulous five weeks!
