Blogging for Beginners

The blogging tool I would choose for our high school library would be Blogger.  I am looking for a tool that is easy to learn and maintain.  Since it is free, requires no software installation, is stored on Google's server, and uses ready to use templates, getting started seems very doable.  I would prefer to focus on content rather than the technical mechanics as I begin.

As I develop blogging skills I would consider upgrading to a tool that offers more versatility such as Drupal or Wordpress

At my high school, the IT guy has installed Blosxom. It is bland. You can not change anything or add pictures. It's so boring, I haven't bothered. When I asked him about blogger or wordpress, he said the main problem is that each of them would have to be installed and set up individually where Blosxom can use our data base which already has names and passwords installed. I'm not sure how he stands on me doing a blog on an outside software and linking to it.

(I've run into some pretty inappropriate blogger blogs clicking on the Next Blog link they put at the top of their blogs) It has a variety of layouts/themes and it comes with a free wikispaces account to set up a wiki.
